Kashnor collection of early American maps, 1670-1851.

ArchivalResource

Kashnor collection of early American maps, 1670-1851.

These 77 manuscript maps, known as the Kashnor maps (named after the proprietor of the Museum Book Store, from which they were purchased), stem from the late 17th to the mid-19th centuries. The maps focus primarily on the French and Indian Wars in New York and Canada (63 maps), but there are also maps of the American Revolution (3 maps), Central America (4 maps), and other regions (7 maps). Because some of the maps in the collection are hand drawn copies made during the French and Indian Wars of earlier maps, the dates of the creation of the Kashnor maps are from 1754-1851.

77 oversize folders.
